How I Got Flawless Skin

To some, the idea of ever achieving beautiful and “perfect” skin may be an impossible thought, but with the correct skin care regimen, diet, and lifestyle, the perfect skin might be a lot more possible than originally thought.

I’ve decided to help ya’ll out by sharing my own skincare, products that I’ve found to be THE BEST at clearing my skin, and what I do daily to make my skin look like it was sculpted by Greek gods.

Like everything, products work differently for everybody. Everyone has different skin, so products etcetera that I use may not benefit others.

My Skincare Rules To Abide By:

1.) Drink a truck load of water

large (10)

Yes, I KNOW this is pretty self explanatory, but water is honestly the key to everything and every skin trouble. If your skin isn’t hydrated, then your skin simply won’t look supple and absolutely fabulous. I tend to aim in drinking at least 2 Litres of water a day, which YES is a lot of water, but it seriously does wonders for the skin! Water flushes out the toxins within your immune system, which benefits all arteries of the body, especially the skin! So DRINK YOUR DAMN WATER! You can even add in some chia seeds and lemon, or any other natural sweeteners to your water.

2.) Lather on that sunscreen

large (11)

Okay I honestly cannot express this enough, YOU NEED TO WEAR SUNSCREEN! It doesn’t matter if you’re only out in the sun for two minutes, you have to wear your SPF! The sun, in many cases, is our friend, but it can also cause a never ending list of skin issues. Unless you don’t want healing acne scars to have darker hyper-pigmentation, or have a face riddled with skin damage, then I DEFINITELY recommend wearing sunscreen whenever you go outside.

3.) Get some sleep

large (12)

I used to have insomnia, and was very sleep deprived, which in the long run DIDN’T help my skin to look any better. When you sleep, your body is still working, which means your skin has time to heal itself whilst you’re still sleeping, but it can’t do that if you’re obviously still awake! So I recommend getting at least 8-9 hours of sleep every night, this won’t only help you have nicer skin, it’ll also help your body in general. ALSO, don’t wear your makeup to bed!

4.) Your diet matters

large (13)

Although many doctors and parents have told you that your diet doesn’t affect your skin, it really REALLY does! The saying “You are what you eat” is heavily applied to this dietary issue. When you consume junk food, in the long run it isn’t going to do your body any good, and it certainly won’t help you in the wanting for perfect skin! Although i’ve personally taken the route of veganism, many out there aren’t able to resort to that kind of diet. So I recommend to those in the aiding of curing acne etc, to eat a diet full of fruit and vegetables, never skip out on protein and vitamin rich foods. Your body will thank you!

5.) Have a routine

large (14)

I always say that “Less is more” when it comes to my skincare and how I manage my skin, but keeping that in mind, it’s always very beneficial to have a skin care routine that you can follow to help with your skin troubles. Skincare products that you NEED to have are as followed:

  • Cleanser
  • Toner
  • Moisturiser
  • Exfoliator
  • Sunscreen

It is also VERY important that you don’t touch your face throughout the day, it won’t help in clearing your skin! Don’t pick at it, don’t touch it, simply leave your face alone!

SO, now that my skincare rules are out of the way, i’m going to share products that I use daily on my skin, to keep it looking poppin’, glowy and literally angelic.

All skincare that I use, or products I ingest, are almost completely chemical free, and are rather natural. I don’t like putting anything with chemicals on my face, especially products that contain parabens, perfume or synthetic polymers, so make sure that you TOTALLY DON’T BUY ANY SKINCARE that have any of these ingredients in them!

These products beat my face to perfection!

1.) Witch Hazel Toner

Witch Hazel is an ABSOLUTE godsend! My friend got me to try out Witch Hazel as a toner, and I kid you not, it was life changing! Witch Hazel has the power to tone your skin, cleanse, sooth, reduce pore size and aids in clearing the skin. T.N Dickinson’s Witch Hazel is 100% natural, and is incredible for your complexion. Did I mention it’s inexpensive?

2.) Rosehip Oil

Sukin is by far my FAVOURITE natural skincare brand. Sukin’s Rose Hip Oil is 100% vegan, preservative free and natural. The product helped me to heal any shallow acne scars that I had, or any hyper-pigmentation on my face. Rose Hip Oil is an honest MUST HAVE for your skincare!

3.) European Clay Powder Mask

Now Solutions European Clay Powder is an amazing face mask to use! It’s 100% natural, and can be used on both oily and dry skin. The product helps to draw out impurities from the pores and remove debris from under the skins surface, aiding for improved skin tone and reduced pore size.

4.) Vitamin C Oil

Vitamin C Oil is such an amazing product, I tell you that! The oil helps to brighten skin discolouration, and can even help to diminish facial scarring. I used this product in combination with derma-rolling to heal very shallow acne scars that I had, and the scars are completely unnoticeable now! Banish Vitamin COil is what I used, and it was a great decision on my behalf.

5.) Aloe Vera

I LITERALLY go full-blown hippie with Aloe Vera. I have an Aloe Vera plant in my front garden, and I literally snap off a stem from the plant, cut it up, extract the aloe gel and apply it to my face. It helps to moisturise my skin, lighten acne scars and is super duper hydrating in general. The more natural the Aloe Vera, the better. But use with caution, using aloe too frequently could cause skin irritation!

6.) Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar can be used either internally or externally. I myself, don’t apply it directly to my face, instead I drink 2 table spoons of 100% natural Apple Cider daily. It can help within the aid of healing acne etcetera. The only downside to drinking Apple Cider is that it’s ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING to consume. But pain is beauty I guess..

7.) Cream Cleanser

Sukin’s Cream Cleanser is very soothing on the skin, it doesn’t irritate my skin in the slightest, and it really helps to heal any blemishes that form on my skin. Any chemical free cleanser in general would be a good cleansing substitute.

8.) Paraben Free Facial Moisturiser

I like to use Sukin’s Sensitive Facial Moisturiser every second day, to help with any skin dryness etc. It’s very soothing on my skin, and it’s TO MY LIKING paraben free. It’s filled with natural ingredients like rose hip, jojoba, sesame seed oil, aloe vera etc. I definitely recommend this moisturiser.

9.) Detoxifying Facial Scrub

I alternate between Sukin’s Super Greens Detoxifying Facial Scrub and Sukin’s Detoxifying Charcoal Scrub throughout the week. Both face scrubs do an amazing job at clearing my pores, and giving me a glowing and pretty complexion. The charcoal scrub does great in removing any dirt and gross stuff from your skin, and both scrubs are pretty much completely natural.

10.) Rose Water

Literally, anything with rose in it seems to do wonders for the skin! I use Primavera Organic Rose Floral Water as a spray on toner throughout the day, to hydrate my skin and make it look GLOWY AS HECK! Rose water is proven to help with skin texture, scarring etcetera.

11.) Pumpkin Enzyme Mask

I use Banish’s Pumpin Enzyme Mask to prevent acne from appearing on my face. It’s an amazing mask to use, and it has many benefits for the skin. It’s also very natural and chemical free. Although, in saying that, I probably wouldn’t recommend this mask to anyone who has sensitive skin, as it can tend to have a very strong tingling sensation when applied.

OTHER TIPS

  • Don’t stress, try to stay calm, meditate if you can!
  • Exercise, exercise, exercise!
  • Give your face a steam cleanse, to open pores, and an ice facial to close pores
