A lot of the time, We are held back because We lack confidence. We often appear confident to the world but inside we fear many things. We just lack confidence in ourselves.
We constantly fear failure because of the pressures. We put on me to strive for the better. We fear being judged by others and not being liked. We fear embarrassment – like making a fool of ourselves. We fear regret because We want to live our life to the fullest. We fear many, many things. So often We are not confident to do things We are uncomfortable with and miss so many opportunities.
So today, I would like to share with you some tips that can help you feel more confident, which will help you do what you set to achieve.
1. Don’t Judge Others
This is at the top of the list because I think it is super important. In this day and age, it is so easy to put another down with your words by saying nasty comments or critiquing others on what they wear, do or act. Yes, we all have opinions on certain things. However, if it involves someone or bad mouthing someone, pause and think, will this affect my life in any way. No? let it go and don’t say it.
“Be Curious, not judgemental.”
2.Don’t Go Hard On People
When you are hard on other people, you will be more hard on yourself. Speaking negativity will only cause you to think and act negatively making you less confident. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but the people who talk the most crap about others are usually the most insecure. So stop thinking about others and use that time to think about yourself and not about how ‘so and so did this, and so and so did that’. Which leads to tip.
3. Give
Give. If you temporarily feel like you don’t mean much. Give doesn’t mean you have to go on a grand scale and give your whole paycheck to charity. Give means you can go help out at the local animal shelter. Or helping out your elderly neighbor with her weekly cleaning routine. Or even something simple like giving someone a compliment.
4.Do Selfless Things For Other
By doing selfless things for others, you will eventually convince yourself that you’re not so bad after all. With positive thought and action, you will feel more positive. Do what you are able to do, even the smallest things can mean a lot to others. As someone who often loves volunteering, the thankful faces of others is all the reward I need.
5. Stretch Yourself
If you want to grow, you have to stretch. It’s going to hurt a little but that’s the only way for you to grow. Set a date and do something you’ve never done before. Do something you always wanted to do but was fearful or not confident enough to do. Don’t avoid the things you want to do because one day you will look back and see the opportunities you had but never took upon them.
Believe In oneself –
Because you once believe in oneself. One doesn’t try to convince others. Because one is content with oneself, One doesn’t need others’ approval. Because one accepts oneself, the whole world accepts him or her.
YOU CANNOT BE LONELY IF YOU LIKE THE PERSON YOU’RE ALONE WITH.
Yes it’s very true.
If you really want to improve yourself, you should stop criticizing the others.
Like English idiom says : “People who live in glass houses should not throw stones.”

This is true- people shouldn’t criticize others, or judge them before they know them- what is the point, they are probably a beautiful person inside!?!

It took me many years and lots of soul – searching to realise that if you can’t love yourself, how can you expect others to love you!

Years ago, I listened to the Staples Singers intone “Respect yourself!”. It’s been a long, hard road, but I am there now and see myself as having much to offer, flaws aside.

Another beautiful post. Could not agree with you more. It at times is very difficult the giving part though. When you gave so incredibly much to other people, but hardly ever get anything back for it, it also does something to your confidence. But never giving something to other people is just not how it’s done. Loved this post: very well written 😊

Being selfless is one of the best ways to increase confidence. It becomes about others and not yourself, yet is easier to do so because there’s no negative feedback towards you.
Judging others, this I find to be most important. It’s wrong that’s for sure but at the end of the day, it’s also one of those things where others are always going to judge you, so do as you want, and live them to it.

That last one, ‘The Believing In Self’, is the magic carpet ride of life. We all hold those fears in one way or another…and the day we finally look deep into our fears and finally understand them, is the day we become free, no longer weighed down by life because we don’t have that weight on our shoulders any longer 😀
Great post Alice, may your shoulders be free ❤

Dear Alice, your post is truly inspirational. It is really thoughtful that you are willing to share your advice on the ways to become more confident. Confidence definitely comes from within and accepting thy self the way you are. I have had struggles with my own confidence, however i realized my low-self esteem derived from my lack of self love towards myself. :). Thank you for sharing such a positive message over at wordpress. 🙂 I hope you have a marvelous day, i have written something similar regarding the topic of “self respect”, it would be great if you could drop and have yourself. The link is down below, https://duanzeav.wordpress.com/2017/10/23/self-respect/
Once again, thank you 🙂
